Sociologist by training, Lucie Dumais is a professor at the School of Social Work of Université du Québec à Montréal since 2004. She co-managed the Research laboratory on social practices and policies (Laboratoire de recherche sur les pratiques et politiques sociales (LAREPPS)) from 2006 to 2014 with Christian Jetté from Université de Montréal and led studies on social policies (social protection and insertion, health at wok, handicap) issued from research partnerships with community organizations, public establishments, unions and companies. She has been a member of the Social innovation research center (Centre de recherche sur les innovations sociales (CRISES)) for over 10 years. Over the past few years, with the transformations of the social State, she became interested in the role of foundations in the field of social work. She is currently leading research on the practices of foundations, be them small or large, in the field of home services and caregivers, two key sectors given the aging population.
