Brendan Anderson

Biography

Brendan Anderson is a senior undergraduate student in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Regina. He joins PhiLab’s Western Hub as a research assistant for Dr. Lynn Gidluck from the University of Regina’s Community Research Unit. Together, Brendan and Lynn are working with the United Way of Regina to explore how investing in 211 services (a free information services that helps direct Canadians to non-emergency human service agencies) can play an effective role in emergency management. Brendan’s primary research interests focus on the application of social entrepreneurship and social business management to international development issues and community initiatives. He is interested in how cooperation between civil society, public, and private sectors can drive positive social change. His work has allowed him to provide management and communications consulting and provide strategic organizational support to social entrepreneurs in Canada and Ghana. He is passionate about supporting social change-makers in his communities.

Miscellaneous

When not in the library, I can often be found working as a photographer, enjoying time outdoors, playing hockey, or making music with friends.
