Biography

My research examines the role and meaning of public space in urban and rural settings, comparing experiences in France and Canada. I am particularly interested in how notions of ‘the public’ are constituted, the ways in which community spaces are invested with meaning, and the interplay of these factors in defining citizenship rights.
