Biographie
Jacqueline Colting-Stol (She/Her) is a Filipino-Dutch and queer settler on Turtle Island. New to Montreal, she is completing a Ph.D. in Social Work at McGill University. Her research interests focus on community mobilization and movement-building in the face of administrated and systemic violence and oppression. Her work often centres on gendered violence and exploitation of women through the Federal Caregiver Program of the Labour Export Policy between the Philippines and Canada. She is an activist organizing with migrant and anti-violence groups, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. In social work, she has held many roles in social services in community health, mental health, housing, settlement and gender-based violence. She currently works on a pilot project focused on the use of digital tools in improving access to services with Refugee613, an Ottawa-based communications hub working toward inclusion, and is a Research Assistant with PhiLab looking at the role of Foundations in climate and social justice.
