Biographie
Dr. Susan Phillips is Professor, School of Public Policy and Administration, Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and founder and director of its Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership (MPNL) – Canada’s only graduate program in this field. She is also Editor-in-Chief of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, the leading international journal focusing on nonprofits, philanthropy and civil society.
Susan’s research focuses on place-based philanthropy and public policy for nonprofits. She is co-editor of The Routledge Companion to Philanthropy, and is currently leading a study team exploring the question: ‘what makes some charities and nonprofits more resilient than others?’ Her work in advancing research in nonprofit studies and public management has been recognized by distinguished service awards from the Canadian research associations in both of these fields.
